It would seem my previous talk of earthquakes was tempting fate! On Sunday an earthquake Mag 6.5 struck just off the Northern shore of my state about 150 miles from the township of Broome, and there have been many mag 5+ aftershocks since. 😦
Some people claim to have felt tremors here in Perth and there were reports of them on our Southern coast (both of which are more than 1000 miles from Broome as the crow flies). I haven’t felt a thing! :-).
As i indicated in the previous comment (and possibly because much of our state is mostly deep layers of sand, not firm rockbeds) fortunately there has been little serious damage, other than to people’s nervous systems!
Saw your neighbouring state was having storm and flood troubles around the same time – i’m hoping they stay far from you! 🙂

Yes, Louisiana was hammered with a low-intensity hurricane (thank goodness!), and it’s probably a taste of things to come. We have until November 1 to get through hurricane season. Anything can happen. 😦
